PRODUCT DETAILS
The alluring frailty of the Victorian lady carried over into the early 1900's , but as women entered new activities such as sports and office work, they needed a more casual and practical wardrobe. The combination of skirt and shirtwaist (blouse) was born to meet the American women's changing needs. Our gored Walking Skirt, fitted in front, flares from a narrow waistband to street or full length. Our original is made of linen and decorated with cut-work embroidery. The SKIRT is finished at center back with tiny gathers framing a button placket closing. Subtle detailing adds to the curve of the hips and hints at the voluptuous S-silhouette entering turn-of-the-century women's fashion. Design and instructions are included for optional cut-work embroidery. Folkwear sewing pattern added 2/27/15 by td.
