This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by HSP on www.houseofsewingpatterns.com (the Site) and any mail-in orders we might receive. It is designed to ensure that our customers understand how and why HSP collects and uses the information provided to us.

Collecting Personal Information
We collect personal information about you when you make a purchase with us. This information may include your name, mailing and billing address, zip code, phone number, and/or email address. We may also ask for this information if you choose to participate in a survey, contest or other promotion. We consider this information to be personal information.
Your personal information is stored in our systems, and will only be used by HSP or authorized third parties to service your purchases. We will not sell or distribute your personal information.
Collecting Payment Information
We also collect payment information about you when you make a purchase with us. This information may include a credit/debit card number, PayPal account username, and/or checking account information. We consider this information to be payment information.
Credit/debit card transactions are processed through Authorize.net, a secure, third party payment gateway. Your payment information may be stored on their systems, but we do not have direct access to that information.
PayPal information is handled through PayPal, and is subject to their privacy policies. HSP does not have direct access to your PayPal information.
Checking account numbers will be in our records from received checks.
Other information related to specific transactions may include what was purchased, the price paid, the payment method used, transaction codes, and any discounts. We consider this information to be transaction information. We store this information on our systems and will only be used by HSP or an authorized third party to service your account.
Security of Our Site
HSP maintains security procedures designed to keep information we own, license and process from being accessed by any unauthorized person or business.
When completing purchases, we use industry-standard, 256-bit encryption to protect the information you submit to us. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or from our Site, and you do so at your own risk. Opting Out
Most of our communication with you will be through email and standard mail to service your orders. In the event we send out promotional emails, you will be provided the opportunity to opt out of those promotional emails. Operational emails, however, will still be sent to you in response to any activity you have on the website, such as placing an order.

By using our Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of this policy at any time. The HSP Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 years. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old. If we become aware that a customer is under the age of 13 and has registered without prior verifiable parental consent, we will remove his or her personally identifiable registration information.
